Nope I can't do metal work to save my Life. Josh over at Dr. Custom Werx is designing and fabbing the whole job. www.drcustomwerx.com/ He mentioned something to me about making cage kits down the road to, would need to check with him though.

At least you won't forget who built the cage for you...

I'm suprised you went with stanchions instead of through the dash up front.

When I was looking into cage builds I got the impression that both are equally strong, the through the dash is just cheaper because it is a simple bent tube. The stanchions are typically more labor intensive as you can see. Josh was going to do through the dash but he got his new toy in time to do the CNC cuts. More Pics

Are you planning on using the stock door surrounds? The angle of the rollbar looks really cool, but it doesn't look like it will allow the surrounds to fit.

I have the Best Top Sun Rider top so they bolt to the side of the tub and then have two long bolts that went through the old roll bar over the doors. Not sure if that is how the stock surrounds worked or not. Josh is going to modify the brackets on my door surrounds so it will work with this cage. I will post pics once that part is done.

just a thought, but you are 8 bolts away (seats) from being able to herc the inside. the prep and strip was the biggest PIA about the job. you're almost there already!

Unfortunately due to me breaking both drive shafts in the Jeep at the start of the winter and the rear axle in my 4Runner rotting out my mod budget is a lot tighter than it should be. The other issue is that with the Jeep being at Josh's and over an hour away I can't really get in there to herc the inside. He has a bunch of new jobs coming in so I can't hold him up with mine. But yeah I know I am so close and yet so far away.

I like it.
I haven't read the posts on the other forums about strength issues regarding through the dash or cowl mounted cage. All I know is that the cowl is the strongest part of any Jeep tub, unless your going directly to the frame.
We've all seen Tracys roll out in Moab...her cage was cowl mounted.
