yeah, there is a lot of stuff attached to the optima! thanks for the compliments guys! so i tried a little test today. i filled my 33x12.5 R15 tires from 10psi to 30psi using both my OBA and shop compressor. The specs on the shop compressor are a sears oiled 1.8hp 25 gal 10.4 cfm, and the OBA is a Sanden from a '92 YJ, a single MV-50 electric and a 2 gal tank. For the first run the shop compressor tank started at ~55psi, and it took 1 min 10 sec to fill the tires. The second run the shop compressor tank started at max (~150psi) and it took about 1 min. Running the engine at ~2000rpm the OBA only took 45 seconds! I'm happy with that

so there are a couple of issues with my onboard air system...
i am using some Home Depot basic air hose, and it can't handle the heat out of the system. can anyone recommend a durable, high-heat hose?
i am thinking about adding an in-line tool oiler to the intake. any recommend brands that can handle being under the hood?

Go to a place that make high pressure hydraulic lines and get some hose of the correct I.D. from them. The primary outlet line I've been using on my system is the stock AC line that I cut the end off of. No issues with it in years.

Although I think John's recommendation is better I used a 2' premade hose from Sears between the compressor and the manifold. It comes with threaded fitting on each end. I think it was less than $10. Mine has laster for approximately 4 years while now. knock on wood
Do you have room for an oiler under your hood. ;D ;D j/k If you add an oiler, consider an oil filter after the compressor to remove the oil from the compressed air , unless you already have one.

john, thanks for the idea, i ended up going with a 2,000 psi work pressure (8,000 burst) 450F rated hose. that had better do it!
andy, i do have a coalescing filter, so i should be ok. and the tool oiler looks pretty small, though that is probably the last thing i'll ever get to fit under the hood!
