Ok since Sundays cut I now have "cricket like sounds" from under my jeep starting at 25mph. I did put the rear axel on stands and gave some gas, but didn't hear the sounds. The sounds happen on flat and bumpy roads.
Not sure if this is related to the rear tire being pinned up against a tree and damaging a wheel bearing.
Any suggestions??

Check the rear u-joint at the axle end of the rear driveshaft. This joint sees more dirt/water/rocks than any other.
Disconnect the shaft and pull the caps. If it's dry and nasty, replace it.

Could also be "angry sparrows" (a bad centering ball assy in the front DS)
If the side of your rear tire was pressed up against a tree the horizontal force is not applied to the wheel bearing. It's actually transferred to the cross shaft pin in your rear diff.

Best way to narrow it down? Also where can you pick up a "Centering Ball rebuild Kit"

Best way to narrow it down? Also where can you pick up a "Centering Ball rebuild Kit" Pull the front DS and drive it. If the chirp goes away then it's the front DS. If not then it could be a front axle u-joint or a rear DS u-joint. edit: Instead of pulling the DS you can sometimes get away with spraying the suspect centering assy with WD-40 and seeing if the chirp goes away for a few minutes. The centering rebuilds can be purchased on-line. Just search using the PN's listed in Stu's writeup. It's easier if you get the 211355x instead of rebuilding it with a replacement ball, bearing, spring & seal. Assy 211355x I do have 3 or 4 new ones sitting on the shelf if you find you need of one. ;D

Do I have to remove the TC skid plate No you dont with your skid its easier than a belly up you have 2 more inches of room I only get about 1/8th of a turn with a wrench you should get a half to 3/4 of a turn A tip on how to start to remove the bolts I jack up 1side of the front end so the tire turns and the drive shaft does also Use the tire for leverage Make sure you go the right way get the wrench against any thing soild and spin the tire it will loosen the bolt that how I tighten then get them all tight with the wrench block up the wrench so it wont move Give the tire a little turn you can feel it get tight I never had 1 loosen up on me there is no other way for me to tighten the 4 bolts No room no leverage

Brian.... I think I read your post correctly.. You attach a wrench to one of the bolts, then spin the tire to break the bold loose which is attached the bolt???
Ok so I went out about an hour ago and wow the squeak appears happen more often, source is definitely under the jeep by the TC. Going to contact Lou tomorrow regarding the centering kit or u joints depending what is wrong.

Do I have to remove the TC skid plate Nope... You can reach over rear of the skid plate and get to the 4 bolts that secure the DS to the tcase yoke. If it is angry sparrows then don't let it go too long before fixing it. The centering assy can let go causing the DS to bind up and grenade the tcase. Just ask Ryan Williamson... His grenaded on the way back from Rausch Creek!
