Doesn't surprise me. I've had my issues with Bestop, and avoid them when possible - hard to do as they pretty well have the market covered. I understand that this probably the business decision that makes the most sense, but it's just one more reason for me to avoid them when I can.

Time for folks to make a consumer decision.... avoid them, they will get the message.

Time for folks to make a consumer decision.... avoid them, they will get the message. Problem is it's sort of a hardship to avoid them. Have you looked at any other tops? I bought a Smittybuilt top for a TJ, it didn't fit well, the bow system was horrible, and the fabric leaked water. I sent it back to 4WD hardware (they took it back and gave me a refund against their policy, kudos to them). Ever tried to find a set of soft doors not made by Bestop? And how about that freak from Canada that runs California Tops. Have you read the horror stories in any of the forums about dealing with him? Besides all that, Chrysler-Jeep uses them for their factory tops, and they aren't going to change any time soon. Like I said, I've avoided them when I could, but it has caused some hardship for me. I would love to have a set of soft doors for my JK, but am not willing to buy them from Bestop. Maybe we need to pool our resources and go into business as a competitor.

Time for folks to make a consumer decision.... avoid them, they will get the message. They already got the message -- they'll make more $ if they cut manufacturing costs by moving to Mexico! I'm always surprised when I find any mass production manufacturing is still in the US. JW

I saw this posted on the Scrambler forum as well. I wonder if I should buy the soft top for my 8 before they move.

I saw this posted on the Scrambler forum as well. I wonder if I should buy the soft top for my 8 before they move. Yeah, a bunch of people who know there job is going south shortly will assemble it. If it were me working there, not sure if I'd be on top of my game. I'm sure some are disgruntled.
