Found a link to an article on another forum: www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS171874+29-Oct-2009+PRN20091029Article is dated 10/29/09 and says... Mopar will also introduce a new 4.7-liter I-6 Stroker long block, a powerful upgrade for the 4.0-liter I-6 made famous in Jeep vehicles built from 1991-2006. Because off-road enthusiasts appreciated the dependability and performance of the previous 4.0-liter engine, Mopar developed a more powerful engine that delivers an expected 265 hp and 290 lb.-ft of torque. The engine will fit in any Jeep vehicle previously equipped with the 4.0-liter I-6 engine.JW

I had read in one of the 4x4 mags about Mopar offering a stroker motor. Now all we need is prices!

Too bad they don't make a 3.2L stroker 2.5L squirrel. Screw it. I'll build my own.

The engine I built is a Clifford Performance kit ! 4.2 long block, his cam, lifters, pushrods, valves and springs, timing gear, intake. I will get his duel exhaust header. 4.0 head from a 92 Cherrokee. Machine work was .060 removed from deck height and .0100 from valve spring seats. If this work isnt done you will bend every rod and or wreck the lobes ! I only run a 390 Holley but he gets his best numbers with a 500 Edlebrock. Not a true strocker but a 4.5 with 230 H.P. and 360 ft.#s. The cam grind puts out 80% of the goodies from idle to 3300 rpms. Right where we need it ! It was an easy build and about700.00 complete ! It feels like a V-8 !! If you guys want more power, look at the 4.0 kit he has. All this guy has done are inline sixes. He knows how to make you go ! FjR68
