Does anyone know where I can get a decently priced steering box? Check that up as one of the many problems from my JULY 4th trip...I am having so many problems with my jeep since this trip..It has caused me alot of money and now come to find out why my draglink doesnt work properly, my pitman arm is stripped and bent the shaft that sticks out of the steering box..
So back to the question at hand..A new or refurb box, reasonably priced...Thanx

I'd go aftermarket...like a PSC.

When I looked a couple years ago a refurb was fairly close to the cost of a new one, and a new stock one was close or more than an aftermarket.
I've got a PSC box, which works pretty well.

I bought one from advance auto parts; rebuilt was like 118 and there was a core charge I'd get back if I brought it back which was better than 20 bucks.. thinking of sending it off to west texas offroad as its hydro assist ready...

Autozone only has one called ATSO or something like that and its 375$$$..So looks like I'm gonna go with this PSC one which is still $350..or maybe swipe one from a Junkyard..lol

I got mine from Autozone in mefud pn858506 128.99 with a 15 buck core charge. Had it in stock on hte shelf. Comes with a Ltd lifetime warranty - but doesnt cover damage from offroad use.. "Atsco power steering gear" is what its called on the reciept but it is the steering box.

The steering gear was changed from a Saginaw/Delphi to a ZF steering gear in 2003. It uses a different mounting pattern on the frame. They started using ZF boxes when Daimler bought Chrysler in '03, which is why the box is so much more $.
