I joined BSJ in 1999. My Trail Jeep is a Comanche (MJ). I started building it a couple years age to replace the old MJ trail truck that was pretty beat. It's not done yet, but here's the specs so far: 92' 4.0L HO adapted to use Renix engine controls 01' NV3550 82' D300, flipped over, HD rear output, stock gears for now 87' high pinion ft D30, Alloy USA shafts, Lock Right, vac disconnect deleted, LCA mounting points raised up, 4.56's 69' Hemi' Charger D60 rear, Moser shafts, Detroit, 11" drums, 4.56's Mostly RE lift: RE arms & track bar, RE 4.5" ZJ coils, Rugged Trail & RS9000 shocks, SOA rear. WNC ft bumper, Warn M8000, home built rear bumper & skids (still working on skids). 2001 XJ nose, doors, interior, etc. Q78 TSL's/ Allied beadlocks I've been wheeling my DD XJ while building the MJ, so here's the specs for that: 98' XJ stock 4.0L/auto/D30/8.25"/3.55's 4.5" RE, with uppers/lowers, HD track bar & 3.5" leafs/shackles. 32x11.5" BFG MT's (currently 31x10.5" TrXus's on for the winter) on Eagle alloys BPI ft bumper, homebuilt skids & rock rails. My first wheeling Jeep was a J4000 pickup I bought ~1990. (3/4 ton, 360/4bbl, 6.32:1 1st gear T-18/D20, D44/D60 w/4.10's on 33's). It was a tight fit on most trails, so I went with an XJ on 32's in 1994. Owned a couple more XJ's, MJ's, and YJ's since then, some daily drivers, some for parts. For future mods, I hope to finish the MJ's T-case/skids, and get it up, and on the trail soon, If I ever get the time, I'll wake up the XJ a little with 4.10's (using an old Mopar 8 3/4" rear), and either a full Detroit, or a Powerlock set up tight. old MJ: Current MJ: 65.42.106.152/forums/showthread.php?t=62308265.42.106.152/forums/showthread.php?t=68252165.42.106.152/forums/showthread.php?t=675004

Soon as I learn how to post a photo I will. If you look at the photos of the April cut+wheel in the members board, mine is the red XJ with the grey hood. Vehicle: '88 XJ (mostly '88 anyhow) Mods: '96 4.0 with '91 electronics, AX-15, NP231 w/SYE, Disc Ford 8.8 4.56 w/Powertrax, non disconnect D30 4.56 w/OX, RE 5.5" short arm lift front, 3" BDS springs TeraFlex revolvers 1" block rear, 35-10.5/15 Swamper SSRs on Soft 8 rims, '97 XJ mirrors, TJ rear fender flares on all 4 corners, homebuilt diamond plate quarter armor, RockRatz rocker armor, homebuilt hand throttle, Tomkin rear bumper w/homebuilt tire carrier, eBay front bumper reworked for winch mount and sealed for air tank, AC converted to OBA, Superwinch ep9000 w/in-cab control, more gauges than an airplane. Future mods: Heavy crank 4.7 stroker in the works, possibly a granny low 4 speed, install the front and belly skids that are sitting in the garage, continue the diamond plate along the doors and front fenders, and possibly get the body painted all one color (GASP!!!) I just joined Baystate this year. Been wheeling for about 18 years now. This is my 3rd Jeep and 4th 4x4: '83 CJ w/2.5" lift and 31 AT's '87 XJ w/1" boost squeezed 31 AT's First 4x4 was an '82 Subaru GL wagon that even had a factory low-range!!! Hope to keep my current XJ until it rots away or breaks in half. John

Hmmm, lets see. I currently drive a grey/black 2000 TJ sport. It's got a 2" spacer lift and 32" BFG All-terrains on it. Sway bar quick-disconnects.(cause I kept breaking the oem ones), a 48" High-Lift jack, and 4:10's. I'm not yet familiar enough with this site to post a pic, but will as soon as I can. This jeep has been across the country 4 times, has 115k on it, and runs perfectly. I've been wheeling in Maine, Colorado, Nevada, California, and New Mexico. Obviously not the extreme trails, but I'd like to think my off-road skills are improving just the same. No serious body damage yet. I just joined BSJ this week (5/5/6) and look forward to making a handful of trail runs each year with a great group of people. This is my fourth jeep. I've had a 87 YJ, a 97 XJ sport, and a 97 TJ. I've probably been wheeling 12-15 yrs, though the early years were with vehicles like a 76' gremlin, 76 VW Rabbit, and a 80 Datsun B210. They're not 4WD but each cost me under $100 and with the exception of the Datsun lasted more than 6 months before succumbing to harsh conditions. The Datsun, well, it lasted about 90 minutes out in a field before being swallowed by a ditch that just jumped out in front of me. Hope to see you all at the southern Maine invitational trail run. Oh yeah, there is a pic of my jeep next to my name. It was taken near Gold Lake in the Sierra Nevada mountains June 25, 2005. Even at that time of year we had to turn back due to the snow being too deep up above 8500ft.

If you mean something that might require some skill...i've been a few times over the last 4 years, but not a lot. I'm a novice for sure. Is this your first jeep?yep

Newbie here Actually I've been a JU member for about 6 years and a NAXJA member for over a year...but I was looking for a local club and I found you! I think I saw you at Sylvan St. Grille a couple months ago. I drove through the parking lot but didn't stop. Anyway... This is my fourth XJ, and she is bone stock! Exciting, I know! ;D My OME 2" springs are in my basement and I'm searching for a good set of 30" AT tires now. I guess I'll also need tow hooks and a CB radio if I want to join the club. I offroaded my '88 XJ a bunch of time but I haven't been off pavement since I sold her 4 years ago...it is time to get back out there! I hope to meet you all soon. -Jeff 1999 XJ Classic P.S. Someone posted about a 4.0L for sale on Craigslist. Ironically it is mine. If anyone needs a motor in a pinch or a good basis for a rebuild let me know...I'll sell it cheap to BS members.
