I'm looking at a new set of shoes, a set of Swamper's, 33 x 12.5 x 15. Also looking at a set of used rims for these and I have a question. The rims are correct for a TJ (5 x 4.5), they're 15" x 10" but I'm not sure what the BS is.
What BS should I be looking for? Read somewhere that stock TJ BS is 5.5 inches. How much could I deviate from that and still be OK?

you don't want more than 4" bs otherwise at full lock a 12.5 tire will rub. trust me i learned the hard way, double check them.

Carl, hold off on the rims. I had someone who's supposed to buy my old set at the Rally, but I haven't heard from him. They look like this: If I don't hear from him soon, I'll give you dibs. Cut you a very good deal. 15x10 simulock with 3.75" backspacing.

Hey Carl, keep one thing in mind...a 10" wide wheel, with a 1" spacer, on a TJ, is going to stick so far out beyond the body, there isn't a flare wide enough to cover it.
We've got 33/12.50s on an 8" wheel with 4" BS, a 6" flare and they are barely covered.

For a 33x12.5 consider an 8" wide wheel. Most say this help keeps the tire from loosing the bead and also the tire sticks out and protects the rim more. For an 8" rim 4" of backspacing sounds right to me.

Just picked up a set of alloys, 15 x 10, 3.5" BS. Came with a brandy new Bridgestone Dueler M/T 33 x 12.5. From what I read on other boards, the stocker rims I'm using have a BS of 5.5". So with a 3.5", I won't need those new Spidertrax spacers.... But if I do the math right, by going from a 11.5" width to a 13.5" width, without a 1" spacer and going from 5.5" BS to 3.5".... hmmmm....... .......... carry the 2........ wow.... even with 7" flares, that's wide. Guess I'll be keeping my 31's on Canyon's for inspection time!

With 3.5 in BS My 13.5 Iroks with wheel spacers sick out over 2 inches with 7 in flairs But I am at 79 or 80 inches wide I want that width when i go to a D 60 it will be that wide
With a12.5 tire and 3.5 BS + no spacers = 1 3/4 inches less width that what I am running They will still stick out of 7 in flairs by about a 1/2 in
If your side wall is not a very stiff 1 you will be blowing beads with a 10 in wide rim and a12.5 tire Iran that combowith my Firestones I ran them a8 psi only blew 1 bead I was upon 1 back wheel any non bead lock would blow then
