my jeep didn't start doing this until i left the dinner with dave at potluck it's getting to reach almost 100,000Miles and i just wanted your input on what to do i think it might just need a new cap and rotor but idk, please help (99 jeep wrangler TJ 4 B anger ;D, sparks and plugs were done about 1,000 miles ago.) also just a side note.... how awesome would it be to put a cummins diesel in a wrangler

could be from water splashing you did at the trail head. hopefully it dries out soon, check the battery cables and make sure they are clean could your battery be getting old?
a bit more of a description would also help us figure out what may be going on.

idk the battery might be the issue... sorry for the poor description... so ill try to describe it better...
so when i put the key in the ignition after it has gotten cold... and turn it all the way to start the jeep sits there turning over for like 6-7 seconds before it kicks over.... might just end up getting a jell-cell battery i heard a lot of good things about them

Could be fuel pressure bleed off.
With the Jeep cold, turn the key to the "on" position. You should hear the fuel pump prime for about two seconds. Turn the back to "off" then on again. You should hear the pump prime again. Try starting the Jeep after the second prime and see if catches sooner.

Does it crank at normal speed for those 6-7 seconds? You can pull the cap and clean it out (can't hurt) but it sounds like a fuel delivery issue. It could also be the crank position sensor - although when that goes, it's ususally a continuous crank/no start symptom.

Whats a crank sensor ? Do I have that option ? FjR68 Yes... It is the thingy hanging off the bolt on the back of the widget behind the doohickey bolted onto the gizmo that makes your engine work. DUH! JW

Frank's crankshaft probably has no position to be sensed
