My sway bar link broke today pulling into a gas station...I see it's only a $20 part, but one site rates the job 2 wrenches out of 4 (intermediate skill level) and another says "EXPERT ONLY" MEANING SPECIAL SKILLS OR TOOLS ARE REQUIRED. How hard is this really? I'm not looking forward to Route 128 with the drivers side link hanging off!!

It should be a fairly simple repair. It has a stud off the axle with a bushing ,washer and nut. The top is held to the swaybar by a bolt I believe. FjR68

It's all in how rusted up everything is. The lower bolt uses a fair size Torx bit and wrench, the upper is a nut on a stud. The upper stud has a taper fit into the sway bar (like a tie rod end) and can be a PITA to remove at times (BFH it!).

I'd rather be on a trail without the swaybar, than on Route 128 with a broken one. But unfortunately this rig spends 90% of it's time on the highway.

Already got a new one, but thanks for the offer. It wasn't super bad until I forgot and took the off-ramp at 50-60 mph last night...that made her lean a little more than I'm used to, and scared me a bit....gotta remember to slow down !!
