Jeep is still under warranty, including winch....
Getting a new one, the old one is peeling!
Getting new rear tail light covers, Replacing oil pan, and rear main seal....was marking her territory!
They know it gets wheeled, they don't care. It is encouraged....Gotta love it!

Tell them I'll give 'em $50 for the old one...
I never wheel my YJ and take very good care of it. The paint is spotless and the body doesn't have a scratch.
Seriously, Angie and I went to a Jeep dealership just to browse. We drove the YJ there and the sales guys laughed at me 8-(

i hate my jeep dealership.
1) they won't cover my broken mirror 2) they won't cover the rear taligate not staying closed 3) the e-brake cable "got ripped out offroad" (their words), won't cover it 4) they want to charge me $82 for diagnostic, which would have been covered under warranty
i am so pissed off right now.
anyone know a dealership i can bring it to and get this work done?

This is what I don't understand. "Jeep" shows their vehicles going off road, the latest I've seen has a Jeep coming out of the ocean....they tell us that their vehicles are the best trail rated things out there. Then they won't help you out when you take it off road. Just dumb.
Let me ask you this. Is the dealership you go to a five star one?
I know some dealerships will help you, some will not. TJ couldn't get satisfaction out west, shipped his Jeep home, his dealer worked on his with no problem. It also helps if you know someone at a dealership.

Legally, the only reason they can deny fixing something is if they can prove it is related to either an alteration you made (mods) or to beating on it.
Yes, if you beat on your jeep offroad and abuse it (this is obviously a gray area) then they won't cover the damage, which seems fair to me.
Back in '99 I dented the stock oil pan in a tj I had really badly and it needed to be replaced. Obviously this would NOT be covered under warranty.
The mirror should be fixed... unless they are saying you hit a tree?
Rear tailgate should also be fixed without a problem...
E-Brake cable... seems like you might have this on to take care of yourself. Why would it break unless a branch or something ripped it off.
I've had OK luck at Dans Jeep in Westboro. Also Midway in Framingham has one tech that has a very modified jeep and is pretty cool. Then I've also heard that Farina Jeep in Marlboro is friendly to modded jeeps.

it is a five star dealership, grava in medford. i think they were trying to f me over. i was able to get my jeep out of there without paying the diagnostic fee, and i am never going back there again. i have had problems with them in the past. also, my sales guy left the dealership, so he filled me in about all the questionable stuff that goes on there. not bringing my baby near them again. any recommendations as to a different dealer that is mod friendly (thanks already kev) will be greatly appreciated. especially if anyone of you know someone there, it sounds like it all comes down to how the tech writes up the report. thanx guys.

Ryan,
There are guys at Kelly Jeep in (Lynnfield?) on Rte 1 that wheel. Know this for a fact....you may have luck there. You could always try Central Jeep too. Gils in Stratham, NH (bit far for you) has good guys there.
Not sure if any of these places will give you trouble or not. Ask TJ where he took his after Moab.

Hi all. Had horrible time at Grava myself back in the day. Stay away. I understand that Kelly service is good though sales is bad. Had great experience at Hassan Bros in Quincy. It was convinient at the time. Got a new NV3550 in my TJ when it whined all the time.

Can't help where to go, but can say to stay away from Ralphs in New Bedford and Classic in Taunton. Both suck with modified jeeps.
I ended up buying at Central because my sales guy (KO) is a former full member of Baystate and still a current associate member. The service manager seems to be an OK guy and he likes my set up and how 'clean' the long arms look. Hopefully, I'll never have to use him for anything.
With that said, I'll be there next week for my SECOND recall. (05's with auto), the first was an oil pump something or other???
I did have good luck (new ball joints on last week of warranty) with Midway on Rt 30 in Framingham and saw a used lifted TJ for sale (on 33's) at Clair (I think), the one on Rt 1 in Dedham. They were selling it, so might be kinda mod friendly dealership???

also, do you guys have the name of any of the techs? i guess it is all about who i talk to. if i can get friendly with the tech, they will take care of me. or maybe service will set me up with one, but i tend to doubt it. thoughts?
