Hi all. I have a 1" BL in my 03 TJ, and in the cold weather, it was difficult to shift into second or reverse without grinding. So, as most do, I removed the factory formed boot. Well, after getting sick of staring at the big hole in my center console, I purchased a "leather" shifter bag from an '05 Wrangler. I cut about an inch off the bottom of the bag and super glued it to the factory plastic boot attachment bracket. What a difference! It looks completely factory and only cost $17...(and $24 for a nice billet JEEP shifter knob. So, if any of you are riding around without your boot, I definately suggest this. Take Care.

That's a great idea Sean. I had that problem after the BL install too. I removed the shifter from the Jeep, held the shifter in a vise, heated it about 1" from the bottom and bent it forward 1/2 an inch. Let it cool, paint it with some semi-gloss black, and reinstall.
No problems with it after that. But I do like your idea better.
