With all this warm weather I can't wait for the spring....
Anyone planning any mods???
My list:
- Gas Tank Skid - Lost 2 gallons of capacity at Paragon last year.
- Not really a mod, but I want to do tranny fluid and t-case fluid.
- Half Doors - Got some half doors last month that I want to get the lock cylinders matched to my key....

I crossed two off my list over the holidays. Couldn't wait for spring!
1) 1.5 " body lift 2) Rear fender & flare trim job (sawzall style)
Still contemplating a set of boomerang shackles Maybe the 4.0 engine swap too.
EDIT: 2-6-06 Picked up a 2 ton engine hoist yesterday. ;D I'm a step closer... Gotta do the Snow Run before I start!

I'm surprised that I haven't done anything THIS winter. Usually, everything breaks in the cold. Last Feb, I was swapping a new 4 cylinder in during a snow storm with my brother and Jay Mousseau. Forget torpedo heaters, beer and cigars can raise the surrounding temperature about 12 degrees. Nope, this year has been nice. It's given me plenty of time to think about restoring the Willys, putting my old Malibu back on the road, and maybe fixing anything on the YJ to keep chuggn' down the trail. Here's a few things for the YJ: Add a few more sticks of tube to my cage. I pick up 40' on Tues. Probably weld (re-weld) the frame in a few spots. I'll probably get a new one in spring too. I though about doing some body work. Nah. I have to bend my tie rod back (again) and eyeball it strait. I might weld some small angle iron to it too. Maybe go back to using a steering stabilizer so I can stay in my own lane. Bite the bullet and install gears/spool into my full-width Ford 9" rear. Same goes for the high pinion 44 front. Part of me wants to save weight and buy Max's axles and re-gear 'em as I have 10 sets of wheels with 5x4.5" bolt pattern. My new axles are 5x5.5". But, I can go to any tire I want with the bigger axles and I'll have locking hubs too. I just don't know. Joe

Hi,
My spring mods include dumping my BB for an RE 7000 Superflex lift with 3.5" springs, adjustable upper/lower controls, adj frt/rr trackbars and OME nitro shocks. Thank You Uncle Sam (I guess)
I have an AA SYE and TW driveshaft sitting in the closet, as well as a set of LEDs.
Secondary items if $$ allows:
*sell my 32 MT/R and buy 33's *some form of add-a-cage kit *some brand of tummy tuck. *Warn flares ...and most importantly...GET THE TITLE!

khakitj03,
I have that lift... It does ride a bit firm on-road, but I am really happy with it. It has almost "sports-car" handling on road, compared to some other suspensions.
I really recommend the OME LT shocks.
Also, for the front track bar, I would NOT get the RE one. The heim joint is notorious for wearing out. I upgraded to the JKS/Currie one and its really nice. Very easy to adjust and seems to work well.
Don't forget some small items... you'll most likely need rear shock relocators. I had the tera ones and switched to the currie ones. The tera ones move the shock more then the currie, which in my specific situation made my shock hit the exhaust. I just switched to the curries, which move the shock about 1/2" less, allowing it to clear the axle and the exhaust perfectly.
Good Luck,
KEV

Hey Scott where did you end up Buying the Lift and Skids? I just installed Shrockworks Scrock bars on both sides of my Wrangler..... It took me about 2 Hours for the total installation and I would recommend these to Anyone wanting some real HD Sidesteps/bars.....Had our Boys in Iraq had these 5/16 armor side guards And undermounted Skids I think theyd have more of a chance in the Roadside Rest Areas..

Hey Scott thanls for the Pics of Us Wheeling last weekend......I know you dont like BFG's but Ill tell ya the 33" Mud Terrains I got in the 10.50s work great, Big aggressive tread and thick sidewalls.... and the Price was right.. I think they were 139.99 Mounted and Balanced at Kenwood Tire In West Bridgewater... anyone looking for specialty tires should COntact Dave and Spenser at kenwood, theyve also saved me a lot of DOUGH by selling me a set of ( barely USED) BFG all terrains, I think they had less than 2000 miles on them and sold me a set of 4 Mounted and balanced for 300.00.... Just thought Id pass it along to any of the members who may beed tires in the future...

First I have to install the winch and diff covers that have been sitting in my garage.
Next I'd like to upgrade the axle shafts to either alloy usa or superior (still trying to decide) along with 5.13 gears.
Then, pick up a new set of 35 and possibly new rims too. (rims might be iffy)
O yeah, a cage might be in there somewhere too.
Yup, it's a wish list, but I might get one of them done by spring...

I need to finish my D44's that I am building nej.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=tech&action=display&thread=1131572565Take out my current lift springs and swap in some new ones (they were 4" but after 5 years of abuse, they settled to about 2-2.5") I have a set of 4" pro comps to replace the skyjackers. I have a 1" body lift to go in. Hopfully some 36" iroks by may I have a header to go on, and new down pipe (banks) Picked up 120' of DOM tube and 80' hrew from Carl Merrick on saturday, crazy cage, perhaps some fenders, exo cage around the hood area. New alternator, water pump, (they are original, might as well swap before they get me stranded) As well as some other little mods, after the Body lift, I am thinking of building my own flat skid plate, still working on a design I like.

Hey Joe! I got there about 6:00, there were two guys from NY picking their up with a tricked out 04 chevy 2500 (bling rims, diesel with power programmer and al that foolish stuff to make a diesel turn a 1/4 mile quicker than a vette) and a 12 ft u-haul trailer. they drove like 6 hours to pick it up~ and they didn't bring a thing to tie it down, I was generous enough to lend them my duct tape (and that stuff is priceless to me)
This was my first time meeting Carl face to face, super Nice guy.
