Yes, Alot of people use that one. I have it and like it alot. Its really nice having "everything" in the hand held unit.
The only thing that's not great, is that the speaker is not as loud as a traditional unit.
Its also more expensive than a normal one. In a wrangler, its nice to be able to undo the unit and hide the thing in the glove box.

Yes, Thats a good one, just get the external speaker so you don't have to hold the thing to your head to hear and try and wheel and shift. here is where I got mine with all the accessories to go along with it. along with a Rock-It antenna mount from Quadratec www.walcottcb.com/index.php?cPath=85_199It's On sale! don't forget the SWR meter.

I have a 75 and think it's OK but I can't give it 2 thumbs up only because I have to run the squelch fairly high. I don't think it's running right. I may be picking up fuel pump noise or something else internal.
True, it would help to get an external speaker - I got one but have yet to install it (only had the speaker sitting around for about 8 months.) :-0
So, for me anyway, all bets are not in. I still need to work on it (direct battery connection, re-route antenna wire, etc.)

I have a SWR meter... You can borrow it at a trail run or the March meeting, if you're going to be there.

Radio shack and an SWR meter seems to work good for me but the 75 looks good.

Scott, I do have and know how to use a SWR meter. I have considered adding the filter but will do that after I re-route the wiring. Thanks for the suggestions though, max

I like it. It gets a little warm after using it all day, but I really like the remote mount/hidden aspect, and it makes it worth a little extra $$, and the slight heating up issue.
The speaker's not great, but since it's on the handset, you can move it closer to your ear if there's alot of road noise.
If you have more than one vehicle, you can get a second remote box (& ant.), and swap the handset from vehicle to vehicle.
