So I got some TJ half doors over the winter and went to test fit the driverside today.
It goes on the hinge fine, but the latch does not light up to the stricker. The door is about 1/2" too low. I lifted the door up and then it closed fine.
Any ideas?
I read something about spacers in the hinge!?!?
I guess I might try loosening the bolts on the hinge and seeing if that helps, but I really don't want to - it will mess up the paint big time. Does the latch itself on the door move up or down?
Thanks,
KEV

Here's what you do...
Remove the hinges from the 1/2 doors. Lather on some white lithium grease to both the back side of the hinge and the door where the hinge bolts to it. Reinstall the hinges finger tight. Hang the doors on the Jeep and close them...firmly. Tighten the hinges and call it done. The door will adjust itself on the hinge end of things.
Clean off the grease and see if you need to touch up where the hinges moved.
This will eliminate the need to adjust the striker everytime you change doors.
I had to do this when we bought the full hard doors.

Sounds good - this is sort of what I was afraid of though Those bolts are painted, which means I'll be destroying the paint on them Plus, when the hinge "face" rotates a bit, the unpainted surface undernearth will show its ugly face! Guess a mans gotta do, what a mans gotta do Thanks! KEV

A nickels worth of free advice...tighten the hinge bolts slightly before loosening them. This will break the paint, and allow them to be removed without stripping the head.
