Does anyone know anyone who is interested in helping me install an ARB in my front dana 30 from an xj that I am putting in my tj? I've got all the parts and am mechanically inclined. I've done some transmission and tranfer case work but never done an ARB. I'm looking for someone to help/teach me how to install an ARB into my xj dana 30 front that I'm building for my tj. I live just outside of Boston but frequently travel along the pike to Albany where I go to school. I can bring the axle anywhere along this route. Shoot me an email if you are interested: sherik@rpi.edu

If possible it may be easier to just swap the whole axle from the XJ to the TJ... should bolt in.
I did an ARB install on my XJ D30... It is a PITA! I'm busy this weekend though... Sorry.

To answer some questions:
1) I am swapping the XJ axle into my TJ, but I am installing an ARB locker and rebuilding it before I put it in.
2) I know a bunch of pikes. They're a good bunch of guys. I'm in Pi Lam.

Jon W, If you're available and willing to help me sometime next weekend please let me know. Take care. Not sure I can next weekend either. My front install didn't come out right and is slowing disintigrating (it isn't a daily drive, so I'm letting it). Please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable trying to help you out... I'm not an expert at it and I wouldn't want to screw up your install. Gear setup is a tricky business and it costs a lot to get wrong. I have found this out the hard way. Based on my (bad) experience, I strongly recomend you take it to a professional shop (I can recomend one - Elias 4WD in Townsend). That said, I'm willing to help with other mods... Suspension, bumpers, electrical, transfer case, etc... are stuff I've done on my XJ and I think came out pretty well. JW

That's what I was afraid of. I'm going to try the shops. Thanks. I think I'm all set with the rest of my buildup, but I'll let you know if I get stuck. Thanks and take care.
