How many of us actually perform maintenance on their winch? I have learned this week that the New England salt and weather is quite brutal to the winch. Last week I was playing on a rock pile in the front of a freinds house, when my buddy snapped the knuckle on his 60. Well my winch lasted just long enough to complete the recovery but when we were done the motor was smoked. Root cause toasted bearings, a pile of sand and a paper thin case on the motor. When I opened the gear side up I noticed that the grease was more like mud. So I was wondering how many actually perform maintenance on the trusty old winch? Hay Kodi, did you ever post the picks from my last run with you? Oh I know the answer, just had to ask.
