At the meeting, Scott mentioned a poker run on Nov 14. Here's a link to the info. forum.neow.net/index.php?showtopic=93230If anyone plans on going, maybe we can caravan up there or meet up there, do the trails as a small BSJ group. Like the site says, "Vehicles will leave from Deering Fish and Game in 10 minute intervals in groups of 5 starting at 10am and finishing at 12:00pm" Never done a poker run, this looks fun. And it benefits a food bank. That's pretty cool. Anyway, if you plan on going and want to wheel together, PM, post up, or email me. Carl. Your elected 2010 BSJ Director of Events. EDIT - no need to PM or email me, just post-up. I'm already acting like a director....... making things more complicated than they need to be

I might be going. It depends on how much I have to finish around the house. I'm also installing a new metal roof on the YJ's cage.

Was thinking about this. Good fun, good cause. We'll have to see as it gets closer. Never know what will happen w/work.

I wasn't able to do the last one.... I had no club and my tires were a shade too small - now I'm ok on BOTH counts - yayyyy! I'm i - especially if we can do it as a group! : )
Oh, and please stop making things more difficult - I get more than enough of that at work.

I may go, but I'm not sure my Yokohama's qualify as "agressive tread" tires !!

I am going to try and get over there but it would be to ride shot gun. I really do not want to run the A/Ts on those trails.

Folks - 90% of those roads can be done in 2WD. I would have no reservations running a stock rig on ANY 31" tire there. If you get into trouble, there are plenty of people in your group to help you out.
If you're newer to the sport, this is a great event to gain some trail experience.

I agree with Joe, plus there will be a vehicle with a winch at the tougher spots. I've worked a check point on this run for a couple of years now and have seen a stock CJ-7 with bald 235/75r15's open/open come through (he needed the winch) as well as a couple of stock Explorers (they also needed a little help). This is an easier route than the Spring Poker Run and is a newb friendly event that can be a lot of fun. They usually send groups of 5 or 6 out about 15 minutes apart so show up together and run as a group or show up alone and run with a group of strangers. Just leave your dog at home and wear some orange, it's the woods in NH in the Fall, you can't be too safe.

I just meant that I don't like running the A/Ts on any road / trail and with the hard top on you can't see or hear crap. Should have worded my first post better. I helped with the last year's Fall run and if it is the same trails I am sure any BSJ member can run them with no issues.

don't let a cat sit up there on a hot day Joe! The metal roof adds better protection from falling branches when you bump off trees and stuff. Plus, no more messing with a 'kini top. I'm making it so I can still fold the windshield down too.
